Pierre, a really wonderful portrait. Knowing that the figure wasn't originally in this setting I'm doubly impressed, particularly with the perfect blending of tones.

A deviation from your usual style Pierre! Very strong image especially with the choice of B/W. The use of a wide angle lens makes the image effective and I also like the composition as it is, with space left depicting the surroundings which add information about the woman. The tones are also very good with good contrast  as well. My compliments!

As usual ,that we know from you, also here is a very carefully work done, way you composed this to create a perspective and a very good bg for this portrait is what I like here,I prefere this kind of grey tones not as Vladimir did that is too strong and disturb the image.Concerning the main subject behind this image is a life story in her expression, worked hands, lower shoulders and maybe also happy memories.I forgot to say about the gate in bg that was in that moment in right position with the sun, this is really excellent and complete this scene.Compliments for your work and a good day.

Hi Pierre,

Indeed, those were different times. Life is changing and fast. Her expression says it all, expresses experiences of a lifetime. Lovely and the type of motive that you may have noticed, are close to my heart.

All the best

Hi Pierre,

This is a very good image. Very different from most of your other pictures, nevertheless it is of outstanding quality. "A moment in time perfectly captured"

Hi Pierre,

This montage made for a nice portrait! I like the perspective of the building and the range of the tones throughout the image.

I do find that circular object about half way up the frame on the right hand side a bit distracting though. For some reason, it keeps drawing my eye to it almost as much as that wonderful gap in the wooden doors/gate does.

Just my thoughts!

"Love the lack of any visual modernization"

Regards always my friend,

Jim j.

I like your original version which you captured and posted the way you have seen it.

This image is very original and different from your earlier creative and artistical work, here you proved again your capabilities of being a very competent and highly skilled photographer to work with all sort of subject remarkable and knowing precisely how to control light and make the best of it to serve your need.

Yes, the aged lady present and with all of the aged surrounding place and its content do add a very sure real atmosphere, the b/w format is also another very practical and wise choice to give this image more originality and the feel of aging while your contrast and tone are of very high quality, in total this is a superb work and so well connecting with the viewers.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Very well done Pierre, this older woman has a face worn with age and surely many stories to tell.  Great black and white composition.  Kindest regards, Gail

A portrait of a woman with a background that gives a sense of place. excellent! I also like what Vlad has done which brings the viewer in closer contact with the lady and less of the surrounding. It really comes down to personal preference and I am going for the original.

The top right portion of the image could be improved IMHO - the very dark shadow areas in the trees and a very bright sky which tends to attract my eyes. Putting those aside and looking at the overall image, it is very good and tells a story of a woman and place that I will probably not see. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your visits to some of my images.

I wouldn't be surprised to know that this lady gazes you and us from somewhere in the Balcans, or Mediterranean nevertheless . Looks so familiar to the Epirus region villages !

Great composed image, with just the right mixture of the elements, totalling a result far too superior than its mere ingredients. Your revealing of the original colour shot helps the viewer approach your creative path with a more knowledgeable way. An image to remember! Regards!

Muy buena imagen

Tiene fuerza y sentimento. Nos presenta una sociedad que poco a poco se va perdiendo, y unos lugares que todavía no han sido atrapados por la prisa y la velocidad.

This shoot fooled me too, I thought that she was sitting in that environment, great work as always.

Good composite. I like the bigger version, as well, as it gives a better sense of place. It's not just a picture of her face, but a portrait of her in her element.
