I enjoyed reading your explanatory text almost as much as I enjoyed viewing the image. I say "almost" because this is so aesthetically pleasing to view.  I usually have an aversion to images with a white background, but here it actually works in the subjects favour. Of course a white bird against a white background isn't something I would have considered trying myself........but I'm suprised at the way the subtle colouration of the bird as well as the darker area's is emphasised in this way. Spectacular nature photography, a real pleasure to behold!
