KenPapai 37 Posted February 24, 2011 Their feet are cut off -- distracting. Also, just an OK use of selective coloration. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 24, 2011 I think the way you post processed this image added the interest I needed to make me stop and look and just enjoy the pickture. The mantining of the color on the building is a nice touch. Very creative way to make the image really work... Well done... MJ Link to comment
je ne regrette rien 67 Posted February 24, 2011 What sort of lens do you use for your street portraits? It seems to me that your subjects never realise that you are photographing them.L. Link to comment
john_nell 579 Posted February 24, 2011 Thanks Ken,MJ & Luca for your comments. When taking street photography its a bit hit & miss as it is taken on impulse.I see something that interests me & shoot away before it disappears. For these shots I used a point & shoot where people not always notice because of its realatively small size or they are not bothered & find it amusing. John Link to comment
je ne regrette rien 67 Posted February 25, 2011 Thanks for the information. Does it mean that you shoot from the hip, without looking through your finder (or screen)?L Link to comment

sagnikroy 0 Posted February 26, 2011 A very fine capture. I also like your use of selective colour against the monotone background. Regards. Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted February 26, 2011 Isn't selective coloring just an emergency exit..?! One of the viewers stopped here just by that. Isn't that a poor reaction on a poor idea? Can I, running the 10 miles, just "win" by throwing my shoe across the finish line..? And if so, would that give me real satisfaction..?! My observations on PN seem to tell me: medium photographers seem to need cheap tricks, and that's liked by medium talented viewers. A captain sawing his boat in three pieces just for attention and some fun wouldn't we take seriously, at least not if planning a boat trip. And once being offshore..?! Sometimes certain elements absolutely don't fit together. If denying, one forinstance has also to accept the pea hidden in our brandnew pair of Niki's and first develloping by the swetting of our feet. Even the artistic remark "We sold you the opportunity in getting a prince" we probably wouldn't take seriously. Link to comment
