I find necessary to explain that the theme here is the compromise madeby the Orthodox Church with some pagan customs in order to attractmore new believers who were originally pagans! It was in thebeginning of the Christianity!

Thank you for your attention dearcolleagues!

Hi Pierre

I love the symbolism you've chosen. And yes. you're right, the christians at the begining have used the pagan elements. Lately they turned into symbols of christianity. For example the cross.

Excellent composition and story. Congratulations.

Best regards my friend. Cosmin

I know so little of these religious issues - I wouldn't have gotten it.  The nearly achromatic element in the foreground is striking, though - a decisive compositional choice.  j

Ah my friend, you have created another masterfully conceived work-of-art.

The tides of time and change are buffeting a number of religions today.  I recently read that the Buddhist hierarchy was questioning the relevance of their beliefs and practices in the modern world. The winds-of-change bring both fresh air and old dirt...

Your insight and outlook are both evident in this fine image!

Qui c'è un po' di tutto di te: un surrealismo semplice ma profondo, il tutto su quel bellissimo tramonto sul mare! Bravo Pierre, una volta di più...

Dear Gail, it's not likely to be considered a bold statement, in my country which is with persuasively dominating Orthodox religion there are still customs, relics, songs which date from the pagan periods and the church doesn't discourage believers to practice those customs! And it is a well known fact! After all it is a well known fact also that the Romans accepted Christianity for political reasons and they remained warriors which I must state that is against the basics of the Christian teaching!

Thank you for your comment, very much appreciated!

Pierre, interesting creative work. Your introductory note helps me to appreciate the image. I am curious to know meaning of these items , except the Church. The foreground look attractive against background of sea ,sun & sky.

Thank you for your visit Ruud, Masa, A.K. and Mumtaz!

A.K. These special kind of pumpkins are some kind of relics in the house of my cousin who declares as great Christian, I guess others have them too and the column under the pigeon is from the Roman times found in either the ancient town of Scupi or in Justiniana Prima (that's on the same place which is now the capital of my country, my home town)! And they all represent the pagan in coexistence with the Christian, as simple as that, ha!

Mumtaz, welcome to my portfolio for the first time and thank you for your visit, I hope you will come again!

A thought provoking work of art Pierre! The depths of your artistic genius never cease to amaze me. No doubt each of the objects in this fine image represent something. Can you elaborate a bit for us religiously ignorant red neck types? ;-) Cool work Pierre!

All the best,
Neil
