mrp1 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Looking across Loch Duich to the Five Sisters mountain range. Taken just before the sun came up. Comments welcome. Link to comment
bill_brown8 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Nice calm image but I'm not sure the purple cast actually helps in this case. Link to comment
mrp1 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Hi Bill, due to the long exposure a strong colour cast was present on the original transparency which I have corrected, however, I wanted to leave some of the colour to reflect how it was that morning. Link to comment
bill_brown8 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Hi MichaelYes I recognise that problem. I have over 150 boxes of slides from way back. Time has caused some alteration in colour balance on many of them. Slides will only last so long and digitising them was my way of preserving them. You may be right but I doubt that the purple glow was present originally. Good luckBill Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 17, 2011 Michael, Scotland is wonderful. My wife and I visited, and I'd love to go back. I like the image, but also think the purple is problematic. I added a #81 warming filter to cut the color. What do you think? Nice shot in spite of color casts. Link to comment
mrp1 0 Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks for your comments Larry, what I have discovered is that the cast is far less noticeable in the print, so I think the issue has been introduced in the conversion to a JPEG with a sRGB colour profile from the original TIFF RGB profile. I'll try and post a revised image at the weekend. Link to comment
