Beautiful image, the lighting here is of very high quality and so well set, the DOF is remarkable and obtain very fine details all over this amazing place, the present of the people and the reflection do add to the outstanding composition.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Roger, I love the openness of this with the line of the beach running through it and the water and sky on either side. The trees are perfect and the runners give a nice sense of scale.

I have to agree with what everyone else has said.  Right away I found this image striking because of its composition.  The three trees and the five people feel balanced, although there is slightly more visual weight on the right of the image.  The lighting is superb, with tose subtle early morning or late night hues.  A great find, Roger, and well executed.

I'm kind of put off by the white light/haloing around the palms... it looks like it was shot on a planet with multiple suns.  The rest of the image is very strong but the attempt to pull out the detail in the palm fronds compromises the truthiness of the photo.

Thank you, Paul and Dave for kind and truthful words

Dave, the halo around the palms are there to begin with (the original shot). I tried my best to remove it in Photoshop but to no avail. And I would like to commend you for your keen observation.

Roger,

I often analyze a composition by noticing what my eyes do and where they wander in the image.  You have created a rarity here.  Usually when the horizon is close to center (top to bottom)the picture becomes impossible to comfortably watch.  Here, however, my eyes go back and forth from one tree to the pair and back again, then look at the reflections and do the same.  Then I scan each set of tree greenery, both actual and reflection.  Then I scan along the beach and see the people, then I compare the soft pastel shades of the sky and reflection. Then I start over with the trees....

A weakly composed picture let's my eyes observe a few things and move on.  Here I can't move on because I am compelled to look back and forth, up and down, inspecting the details.  Yet I am having trouble explaining to myself the elements of the design that so capture my looking.

Very nice image composition!

I am adding it to my favorites so that I can look at it again.  And probably again.

Regards,

Jerry
