I think the processing is spot on! The colours appear natural and unsaturated and there is enough light in the shaded area's for good definition of the trees and vegetation. Good depth of field also with those distant snowy peaks as a distant focus point, and the tiny island nicely off centre. Excellent landscape!

Best Regards

Alf

First comment to come to mind, DAMN!  Fred this is stunning. Im assuming HDR, if so brilliant.  The overall tone of the sunlight on the mountains is outstanding.  Im officially in desperate need of a revisit to some old favorite places.

Thanks harry......glad you like it.

Alf.....thanks for the comments. I processed four different files of this image and like this one best. Picking the right white balance is huge. I also had to do some selective lightening in the foreground to bring out some detail. It's pretty dark. I've processed many images and thought they looked great....then look at it a month later and think what did I do, this is crap. That's why feedback from you guys is so helpful.

Thomas.......Nope......not HDR. It's a single file. I should probably have used a one stop grad and I could have achieved a brighter foreground but everything was fitting into the histogram so I didn't. I did use the grad tool in Adobe Camera Raw in post so that I could increase the exposure in the shadows without blowing out the sky. I'll know better next time. Thanks for commenting.

Cristina......thanks for stopping by.

A true stunner, I think you managed to control your camera perfectly. Yes a grad to bring out the f/g might have given you some better clarity but ....maybe not! Beautiful natural colors....just wonderful and much for my eyes to study as I journey through the scene. My compliments

Best regards, Pamela

Beautiful photo Frank. I like vivid colors only I will just a little take intensity of the green, otherweise I like it. Best regards, Robert 6/7

Necat......thanks for looking.

Hi Wendy....It's hard to take a bad shot in Glacier Park.

Mark....thanks for stopping by.

Robert.....thanks for commenting.... I did increase the luminosity of the greens but just a bit.

Lester......thank you....nice to hear from you.

Zsolt....thanks for the comment.

Hi Tony....Most of the time I tend to over saturate so maybe I backed off too much. Thanks for the comments.

The colors!  The red of the sun (setting or rising?) is like a big swoop of neon smack-dab in the middle of an otherwise absolutely serene scene.

Hi Jeff......hopefully I haven't over done it. I'm trying to keep my photos as realistic as I can but also produce something that gets more than just a glance. Some enhancement is necessary but it's hard to find the right balance and I'm not the best judge of my own work. Thanks for the input. Sunrise by the way.

Perfect!  Perfectly lovely!  I wouldn't change a thing, not one thing.  Thanks for sharing this little slice of a beautiful northwestern Montana morning.  Truly an "Ahhh!" moment.  Cheers!  Chris
