starvy 7 Posted February 5, 2011 This is the sort of image that requires critical focus. I am extremely familiar with the attire and know the possibility of vibrancy those colours could bring out so I am left feeling that this could have been just so much better. Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted February 5, 2011 These are the people from the slums, their clothes are ragged and washed out, why would I try to portray them looking vibrant when their surroundings are hell as is their lives. The colours are exactly as they were. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 309 Posted February 5, 2011 As you said in one comment of Rashed's picture - your kind of model! Best regards Birte! BTW, thanks for your recent visit!PDE Link to comment

hamidfarzandian 0 Posted February 5, 2011 This capture, as you said, is perfectly revealing their situation in their ordinary life, so its perfectly a documentary as well as a fine art portrature, masterfully executed and managed for composition, light, and colors. So pleasant to view. Bravo.Hamid. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted February 5, 2011 I find the image haunting, every wrinkle and line does indeed depict the unfortunate hell that these people suffer on a daily basis. But what it also seems to convey through those piercing eyes, is a spirit that defies all the odds and remains strong. Your usual professional standards in evidence and sufice to say.....Top marks!RegardsAlf Link to comment
raymondborg 0 Posted February 6, 2011 Very interesting character. This lady is surely a very good subject to be photographed. However, there is some hot areas on the nose and cheek. Congrats. Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted February 9, 2011 Birte, a really wonderful portrait. The stoic quality of her face tells of a woman who has endured much. The light of her eyes and the bit of silver hair are beautiful. Link to comment
