How you managed the depth of field and give the blurring effect on the front and back is perfect. Beautiful picture.

Beautiful image. Congratulations. I love the technical approach that fully supports the aesthetic quality. The subject is wonderful, an example of industrial (fishing) architecture that is probably still of a type common today. You give it a sense of another time with your blur and out of focus background.

 

I am currently doing a series on how we perceive 300 year old colonial houses today and would very much like to apply some of a similar approach. If you read this and want to help, please contact me. I can see the possibility of blur in camera or by movement under the enlarger, but my project is mainly digital (exceopt for Nikonos shots of the buildings under snowstorms) and wonder if similar effects can be achieved in image editing?
