donna pallotta 108 Posted January 22, 2011 brilliant surreal image, Renar! technical treatment creates an old world flavor. reminds me of a line from the film Gosford Park where guests are coming down for breakfast at an English country house, the breakfast room lineed with a long buffet, and an american film director (one of the guests) sits down and starts ordering his breakfast to the servant, but the host charmingly informs him, "an englishman never has his breakfast served to him." lol ... it just reminded me of a parody of manners. great image ;-} dp Link to comment
suspendedmoments 0 Posted January 22, 2011 I can honestly say that there is nothing I don't like about this very formal image! It has a wonderful visual flow... the strong verticals and formal horizontal elements add to the silence... all leading us to that egg yolk tear supported by that ironic sausage smile...the ruffles lightly cascade to the empty plate (another wonderful horizontal stopping point)the chamber candle holder does a wonderful job of using it's un-lit candle to point us to the dramatic portrait on the wall...I'm going to stop writing and simply say... it's F A N T A S T I Cheaded straight away to my favorites collection...
