Great wildlife shot Nathan of the woodpecker. Well done with the color, lighting, sharpness, Depth of field and composition. I posted a Hairy woodpecker photo this week also, I saw it sitting on the leg of a dead dear that was frozen in the snow. I lood forward to seeing more of your work, Take care.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  He was in a pretty "busy" tree with lots of limbs in the background.  I guess ideally I'd like to have a consistent creamy background, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

A like the limb in the back. It adds a great edgy dynamic and saves it from being conventional. It even echos that serious beak. But with that red among the monotones, it would be wonderful either way. Thanks.
