stp 6 Posted January 20, 2011 Michael, I'd suggest two things. This is over-exposed, and you should cut down the amount of light considerably. That will greatly intensify the colors in the clouds, and it will remove all color from the grasses, thus making them silhouettes. Second, I would crop just above the tallest grass stem. Anything above that is not adding to the photo. It will also help focus the viewer's eyes on the main elements in the photo, rather than letting the eyes drift up and out of the frame. The composition is there; it just needs a bit more work to bring out all of the inherent potential. This might have been most effective in landscape mode rather than vertical, just to avoid that empty white sky. [bTW, doing sunsets with digital cameras is exceedingly difficult, IMO, so you've chosen a shot that is not at all easy.] Link to comment
