I believe it looks much better zoomed.

I would be very interested in hearing any more thoughts about the lighting and shadows in this shot. Is it too much?

Hi Stan. This is indeed a shot that really needs to be viewed larger. As a smaller shot, so much of the detail is lost, but larger, it comes to brooding life. I really like the composition, and the stark contrast in the black and white treatment. It almost needs to be viewed on a matte black background for the fullness of the shot to come through, or in a darkened room on a wall. I guess that it might be possible that your monitor is brighter than ours, because a few of your other shots seem deliberately dim too. May even be possible that you are working in AdobeRGB instead of in SRGB.

 

Either way - I really like this shot!
