The Wait II

Spiders always amaze me. This little guy is about 5 times enlarged. The web was spun about 6 feet off the ground. The wind was blowing like crazy and moving the web about 2 inches back & forth. There were some wonderful purple and yellow flowers behind the web. Although I don't like to shoot at high iso's, my settings were: ISO 1000, 1/50 at 6.5, tripod mounted and ambient light only. I managed to pull off a couple of reasonable shots and went inside to eat, maybe 20 minutes. I had left everything set up so I could attempt a few more shots, but when I returned the wind had blown the whole thing away, like dust in the wind. I bet the next day the spider had rebuilt the whole darn thing. Amazing beautiful geometric architects.
