Guest Guest Posted January 5, 2011 The b/w format is a great choice here and makes this image stand up in a great form, the details are so fine and so the high class contrast and tone do add to the well thought off composition.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. dustinbise 0 Posted January 5, 2011 Thank you. The spot was one I had shot a few years ago and I decided to revisit it during identical lighting conditions as the last time. I think I had much more success this time. For the light, I used a flashlight and hand painted the foreground. I wish I had a little more light in the top of the tree, and I may need to dodge it some now that I think about it. Link to comment
SteveH 0 Posted January 6, 2011 I agree. I think that the tree needs to be sparked up a bit. Here's my quick and dirty doge job. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted January 6, 2011 I can see why you would revisit this spot, the mound of foreground snow and the central tree's position between it's silhouetted brothers makes for a dynamic presentation. I think the idea of "light painting" the central tree was a good one too, and there are some really nice reflective "jewels" evident in the snow. But maybe just a bigger flash light next time, though I think the brightness can easilly be rectified in processing.Well done Dustin!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
