Wow! frozen fish fresh from the frosty lake! : - ) I love this shot, both as a photographer and as a fisherman. I've always wanted to have a go at ice fishing......maybe one day. What type of fish are they I'm guessing they are trout  from the tags on the photo information? But I can't identify them from that angle. I have seen on TV some of these guys have little huts on the back of trucks, they unload these onto the ice, and bore through the ice with an auger type drill, then sit drinking beer and fishing for hours. ....What a life eh!  I love the bright orange standing out against the cold ice, nice sharp photograph, well composed too. Please you must tell me more about this Linda I'm fascinated.

Great Shot!

Best Wishes for 2011

Alf

Hi dear Linda,

Nice capture with nice view.

Is it happened after a long climbing?

Take care & happy new year for you and your dear family!

Best regards(Bobby).

You are right! These are Rainbow trout. My son here is an avid fisherman like his dad. They spent most of the holidays ice-fishing with the new ice-fishing tent. These are rather puny compared to what they usually bring in. Here's a shot I took in the summer. Steve likes to brine then smoke his trout and they are just as delicious as smoked salmon.

I have some shots of this last trip that I will e-mail you.

Wow! ...........Suffice to say I'm rather envious!  But the next best thing to fishing (apart from photography) is watching other people fish. I'll look forward to your email Linda.

Many thanks

Alf
