This is one of me favorites from your portfolio, which is great by the way.  I love the lines of the river leading to the sun, makes the eyes wonder around the frame endlessly.

wonderful shot, Stephen! I really do love how the "tracks" in the foreground lead your eye to the horizon and how the interesting rock formation on the left is competing with the setting sun for the viewer's attention.

Thanks for the comments from everyone -- they are appreciated.  This photo is special to me because it is one of the very, very few that was conceived well before it was taken.  I was sitting at home on a rare cloudless winter day, got an idea for a photograph, drove 3.5 hours and hiked 0.7 miles through the forest to get to the beach, set up the camera and took a few photographs, and then turned around and repeated my trip in reverse.  I managed to get exactly what I had envisioned about 5 hours earlier.

Your story tells a lot , but the image speaks from itself . Perfect composition , colors and mood , one of my favorites on this site !
