Cactus flower

Love the composition and the crop. The color palate is pleasing as well.

I find the image a bit noisy. It's hard to tell with posted images if the source of noise is due to web site compression or settings on the camera. You have a fabulous camera and a great lens. Is the noise a result of your camera setting?

The focus on the petals at the right is fantastic but it appears that the very center part of the flower at the upper left might be a little over-sharpened. Post-processing that flower center to selectively bring out lighter colors at the ends might be more effective than sharpening.

But I do like this shot and would be proud to say I'd shot it.

I like the flower being in the upper left corner instead of in the middle. The aperature seems to be set for a narrow depth of field. By increasing the aperature you could get more of the yellow parts in focus and make the flower more pleasing. Post processing can not overcome DOF very well. I use a telephoto lens with high aperature to capture shots like this. Happy shooting.
