When taking a family picture for my neighbor's Christmas card their

little one had a moment. Luckily that didn't last long.

I have seen this reaction before - something of hers is being taken from her.  There are whole cultures that feel this way.  I tried to photograph a vegetable/fruit vender in Hong Kong and she pulled the brim of her huge hat down in front to cover her face from the camera.

With little ones like this I always ask if she would like to help me take a picture of uncle Bob or whomever.  She is suddenly in a position of power and loves the process, usually deciding she wants her own picture taken next.

But then children are just little versions of big people aren't they?

What a sad moment you have captured for this lovely little girl, the expression here is priceless, you have also managed to lit this work superbly and maintained wonderful details and skin.

Sometimes grown-ups feel this way but it wouldn't be quite as cute coming from us. Her daddy did hug her and she was quickly a happy little girl. Thanks for commenting. Take care, Deanna
