Carlos, While I am very fond of the scene, the light and the composition I am not  much of a fan of the posterized look that you have used here. I guess I am old fashioned but I much prefer smooth tonal transitions over blocks of solid tone adjacent to similar blocked up lesser or greater tones, it ends up feeling chunky and unnatural to my eye.

I contaminated the raw file and didn’t allow enough distance before uploading and only later noticed the tonal mess I created. It’s weird how perception shifts once you upload a picture. How differently you see it. Also my sight ain’t how it was and I’ll have to visit an eye doc soon and get me some glasses. You can’t cut it as a blind photographer. Anyway I’m glad you think the picture merits more than I gave it first time around. This new ‘Ed’ is an improved version and I hope you’ll take another look. Take care Gordon.

didn't see the previous version. Here I'd say: great use of window light. And despite bright patches of light bear a risk of competing, they rather form a harmonious pattern underlining cozyiness of this style of interior.

Can't tell how, but you managed that Ed is not lost in this scenery - my eyes keep returing to him. Maybe it's his body language - somehow at home but not completely at ease - he's very aware being photographed. Reminds a bit of old photographs from early times of photography.

I like the paradox of formal/informal that it contains, at least for me. I also like the square presentation which I think adds to that feel. I'm not too fond of that sepia toning although you may write that off to a personal quirk. If I wanted to nitpick here it would be about his eyes half closed but then, it's probably normal for him to do that. Like what you present here Carlos, a lot.

Excellent  full portrait, using natural light and  balanced  flash light. I don't  care  to much for the technicality. The tone is  warm and beautiful. Very good.

Technically perfect in spite of the low available light and the tone suits exactly the theme! Excellent - seven!

To me, you have photographed this person in an original place, the place contents all around add the appreciate atmosphere to the image, of course the way you lit this image and brought all of the fine details is remarkable achievement, the tone do add a great impact to the over all superb composition.
