I am sorry. I tried to find something you could do to improve upon this portrait. I did not.

The composition, pose, background, subject's separation from the background, lighting, contrast, exposure, and his expression are all excellent.

Any writing, pictures or symbols on the subject's clothing or in the background will draw attention away from the subject. Not knowing what the symbols mean, I am going to assume they have meaning for the subject and therefore, enhance the image in a meaningful way.

This looks like it was taken in Korea from the writing, the stance is classic martial arts. In China where I now reside , kungfu is distinguished from wushi, the latter actually refers to marshal arts, whilst kungfu is actually a reference to acquiring a great skill in something. Very interesting shot.

Aesthetics: looks good and would make a great contribution to a book on swords. Composition - I particularly like the angles of this stance, and the intense stare which the subject is making, showing no signs of anger, just impassive, perfect. Tones: shadows are wonderful on the figure and with the long thin shadow on the floor. 6/7

Originality: this image is more original because of the writing, however it would be possible to take similar images across Asia. 4/7
