What a great capture!   He looks like he is coming right at you.  I appreciate your posting your camera/lens combo.  It helps a beginner like me determine whats best for birds...and surf.  Aloha.

Steve... Even with the tack sharp gaze and water droplets, the slightly blurred wings give a great sense of motion.  Of course, the expression is priceless... Great shot and impressive focusing... Mike

I enjoyed your wildlife action shot. well done with the color, lighting, sharpness etc. with a shot that is very difficult to capture this well. Great job, take care.

Hey guys and ladies, Thanks for the kind comments...

Monte, the sun caught a reflection there. I almost cloned it out but, hey, it's part of the image. I did clone out a couple of really bright drops of water. The sun was firing rainbow drops back at me.  On a close view, it looks like a talon went into the eye of the fish.. ouch.

Ah, regarding the eyes on the Osprey.  For some reason I thought you were talking about the eye of the fish.

I try to not to state something without verification so I popped open the original RAW/DNG file to have a peek.  It turns out that the eyes may have been DULLED a bit in PS but not enhanced.  Recall that the sun was almost directly in it's eyes as indicated by the reflection on the right eye.

When the sun hits those yellow irises they've got bright eyes, what can I say!
