alfbailey 3 Posted December 14, 2010 BILLMany thanks for your interest and positive feedback, much appreciated!Best RegardsAlfGAILAhhh yes, this is definately the right place to hibernate, only being woken for late breakfast with newspaper and someone on hand to read out the interesting bits : - ) The only drawback is that sadly Genfinnan House closes for the winter, but I can appreciate why, as I'm sure you can also Gail with the extreme weather you are experiencing over there. Many thanks for your visit Gail, it's always good to hear from you.Kind RegardsAlfGRANT Sincere Thanks for stopping by and and for your encouraging feedback, much appreciated!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted March 2, 2011 This is very visually appealing images which gives me a longing to visit there. What more could I add that has not already been said so I will repeat what already has been said: "The colours all work together to produce a very pleasing palette. The mist and its reflection frame this beautifully and of course your composition makes the most of this natural framing". I could not say it any better than Jim Cowan. All the best, (7) Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted March 2, 2011 Many thanks for your visit and very encouraging review. If you ever get over to this little island, Scotland has got to be one of the places you should see, the scenery is amazing, like nothing else I've ever witnessed. Even the colours are more intense. I intend to go back there in the autumn, and hopefully spend a few more days exploring and taking photo's. We might even get some decent weather, though I have to say, even in the most damp drizzling conditions, this place still managed to look beautiful.Cheers Tony!Alf Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 31, 2011 Alf, I can't begin to make it through all of your comments on this masterful image. Scotland was one of our favorite trips. We were fortunate to get to Skye and other great highlands locations. This image is serene, restful, subtle; yet moving and emotional. I always value your comments, Alf; and I really enjoyed browsing your portfolio. Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted October 17, 2012 You summed the place up perfectly with your first two words, it really is a heaven on earth! Many Thanks for your thoughts and kind words! And humble apologies for my very late reply!Best Regards Alf LARRYApologies to you also, I seem to have missed these last couple of comments somehow. Skye is an awesome place, so incredibly remote and beautiful I have only spent a very short time there, but I'd love to go back. I will be back in Scotland in November, but doubt I'll make it to Skye. There are so many area's of natural beauty in Scotland it would take a lifetime to photograph them all. Sincere Thanks for your thoughts and comments Larry, very much appreciated! Best Regards Alf ANNE You are not alone in sighing when you look at this, I do exactly the same thing and then make a wish that I was back there taking more photographs. The good news is I will be in about 3 weeks time! Many Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Anne, very much appreciated! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
toni bee 0 Posted January 16, 2013 I would love to stay there too! The photo ops would be so amazing! I was there for 10 days and took hundreds of pix. This is very beautiful. I love the loch ness monster in the lake, ha ha. The reflection is gorgeous and the smoky fog sitting atop the trees gives it a cozy feel. What a beautiful hotel!! Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted January 16, 2013 Sincere Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback, much appreciated! As I recall, the hotel was named "Glenfinnan House" and the way it is situated on the banks of Loch Sheil is nothing short of idyllic. I would love to spend a winter there and capture the early mornings and late evening colours. Its nice to look back and dream : - )Thanks again Toni & Best Regards Alf Link to comment
