Good eye for composition. I find the chain in the left corner and rope in the right corner to be attention grabbers though. In my opinion the photo would be better without them.

This is a great find my friend and very well utilized, your exposure value is remarkable and so the details been so well brought up, you have wonderful color and very well saturated colors while the composition is outstanding and do add a lot of interest to the quality of this image.

I am still in Sri Lanka in Bentota around 2 hours from Colombo the capital, I will return home on 29th. this month.

Thanks for all your comments. John I took up your suggestion and removed the distracting ropes and chain. I agree it looks a bit better. Best regards.

...which version I like more - the one with chain and ropes or the one without.

But even before I've read the previous critiques I found the rope on the very right (the one inside the water) to be distracting. Removing this one is in my opinion a good idea in any case.

Other that that I really like the composition, the colors, and the structure of the water!

I love the natural colors you achieved and I see the ratings are rather low for a very good image - rope or no rope. I am torn between the two versions but in the end and without being chained to any pre-conceived notions, I go for the 'no strings attached' version.

"Just Married" - H-m-m-m! I wonder if the male is the orange boat? But let us not go down this slippery slope.

Very interesting shot! Colors are so excellent and eye-catching. Rope and chain are more apt with the name you chosen, but i prefer chain-free version :)
