Gorgeous. Again, I really cannot find fault at all in this image!

Great looking model in a suitable pose, as for the horse I think he should be shown more clearly so that one can at once see that she's riding a horse!

Alain,

Jessie is a beautiful girl. I love her expression. There is an Emma Watson look about her. She is really quite fetching.  The lighting, contrast and her skin tone are excellent. The background is neutral and nicely out of focus. Jessie is well separated from the background. I love the lighting on her hair!

Her make-up looks very nice, but a little eyeliner under her eyes would frame them and help to make them stand out even more.

One catchlight per eye is preferred.

Her hand would look slimmer, more feminine and graceful if she didn't have the flat of her hand towards the camera. Just have her move it so that it is going down her leg instead of on top of it.

The large out of focus horse really draws my attention away from Jessie. An out of focus background draws attention to your subject. An out of focus foreground draws attention away from your subject. I also don't like the horse's eye cropped into. The horse does appear to have a nice catchlight, though.

You depth of field is so narrow that parts of Jessie are out of focus. I don't see a good reason to have any of her out of focus. Parts of your subject out of focus will draw attention away from what is in focus. It is difficult to go wrong with having the entire subject in focus.

Nice shot,

Mark

Beatuful photo Alain, with great B & W work. I agree with Pierre tghough, the horse is too out of focus and is distracting. Still, great work, thanks for sharing.

yes, Alain, that damn horse is distracting. but in the same time is the key of who she is, her character, her spirit... beyond her beauty. i like this version in the same way i like the color one, but diferent. cheers!

I think I prefer this version, because the bright chestnut color of the horse distracts a bit in the other version. But both are outstanding shots and I love them! Can't go wrong with a beautiful girl on a horse.

Thanks for contacting me.  Here she is without makeup and quite photogenic to be sure.  I occurs to me that Jessie is not only beautiful but also wonderfully ubiquitous.  She can create a splendid atmosphere with makeup and without.  The perfect model. Here she has a commanding air about her.  A good thing to have if you're on a horse.

A very fine photograph, by the way.

This is a superb portrait, Alain.  Love the b/w processing.  Your tones, lighting, depth of field and composition are excellent...as always!  Beautiful!!

All the best,

Deb
