gsphotoguy 3 Posted December 4, 2010 From our recent outdoor shoot at a time when the winds kicked up a bit. Link to comment
clemsonguy 0 Posted December 4, 2010 This caught my eye for sure. Love the motion and apparent emotion. The one thing that I would be critical of is that the skin looks a little flat and on the verge of being blown out. This might be improved by using the yellow or red slider in your BW conversion, but you know that. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted December 4, 2010 Clemson - Thank you for the comment. I agree that the lighting is a bit flat. I'll see what I can do to correct it a bit more.My B&W conversion is fairly simple, I shoot B&W film and scan the negatives so color adjustments wouldn't help:-) I might be able to do something with contrast and level though.-Mark Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted December 4, 2010 Grrr .. I wanted to do his today, but it was too cold and I could not possibly expose the model to the weather .. : -) Now this photo has something special. Some may complain about the lack of contrast, the hair on the chin, perspective or whatever, but for me it has something more important, it has character. It looks like many works I see around in exhibitions where you start by critixizing all the details and when you've finished, you realize you love it .. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted December 5, 2010 Outstanding out door modeling work, the lighting here is superb and so the contrast and tone of this amazing b/w format. The model sound so relaxed and competent which did add credit to her nice pose, thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. gsphotoguy 3 Posted December 5, 2010 Thank you all for taking the time to comment on this photograph. Here are a few specific replies:John - For the record, when we began it was about 45F rising to about 50F when we were done. Having strong sun helped plus she had a heavy terrycloth robe to wear to warm up as we walked around.I am pleased you see her character in the image. We have had that discussion before and I appreciate that others are also interested in feeling as an important element in photography of people. Katy_T is quite expressive and worked hard during the entire session.Samme - She is a terrific model. I am pleased you like the image.Rashad - Considering it was chilly and the wind was blowing she worked the pose and light well. I too was very pleased.-Mark Link to comment
steve ward 0 Posted December 5, 2010 Congrats to the model. Breezes that come through after the leaves are down are usually pretty chilly. The image is quite nice, the hazardous duty pay was well earned. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted July 2, 2014 Another pearl among gems. She has a special "angel" for the lens, and you've done a great work this day. Perfect light for a perfect composition. Link to comment
