I prefer this one to the color version, makes it more mysterious and abstract. Without any hint for dimension it holds my interest for a while, maybe a crop of the UL would make for an aerial photo impression.

Excellent image in B&W.  Wihout having looked at the color one and your explanation of what it was I would never had guessed it.  It looks like an aerial photo of a very round lake.  Well done! 

Thank you both ! I wish a vantage point much higher than this were available, to be able to capture the small creeks running from the spring. If I cropped them, it would take part of the impact away.

The color  version doesn't do any good  for  this image. The  b/w  is  mach better.  I like the contrast and  composition.
