scottsmorra 0 Posted October 30, 2010 I hiked up into Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge on Wednesday to check out the fall colors. Some trees are at peak and some are past peak. The waterfalls were very impressive due to the recent rains. This is a shot of Metlako Falls from above. Definitely need to watch your footing here...it's a long way down! Nikon D80, 12-24 Nikkor dx, polarizer 2 exposure manual blend for dynamic range. 6 sec and 1 sec at f/16, ISO 100. All C&C are appreciated. Link to comment
J. Perez 0 Posted October 31, 2010 Very well done, Scott! The manual blend is seamless. My guess is that the rear falls is the 6 sec exposure, and the front white water the 1 sec. The differential amount of water blur is the only indication that it is a multiple exposure blend. Very beautiful! Cheers, J Link to comment
scottsmorra 0 Posted October 31, 2010 Very close J Perez. The 1 second exposure was for the water in both the foreground and the background and the 6 second exposure was for everything else. It was pretty dark in here so it required the 6 second exposure to get the details of the walls/vegetation. Thanks for commenting. - Scott Link to comment

alight 0 Posted October 31, 2010 this is a fairly unique waterfall pic. Most of the frame is taken by the moss-covered rock, with water gushing out in a narrow stream. Man, in a way I can see a dog relieving itself: see the hind leg and part of the belly? That would be like an apartment dog kept indoors for the whole day... Anyway, I'd better stop. It is a nice photo. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
