j_sevigny 0 Posted October 29, 2010 This is nice. But I think your main subject, the girl in shadow, is a little bit small and kind of gets lost in the larger, kind of busier scene. I hate to give this kind of advice but a little bit of cropping may go a long way in this situation. But I do love the contrast between the razor sharp girl in the foreground and the blurry people in the background. Keep it up, man! Link to comment
James G. Dainis 302 Posted October 29, 2010 I like this photo too, with the difference in color and sharpness between the solitary girl and the other people. Very nice. As for composition, most people look at a photo the same way that they read, from top left to bottom right, although they do that quickly. You have a lot of empty space on the left before the eye comes to the main subject, the girl. I think the composition would be better if you "flipped the negative". It is a very nice photo anyway. aarkp 2 Posted October 29, 2010 i like the idea behind the composition - the flip seems to serve it better Link to comment
James G. Dainis 302 Posted October 29, 2010 On the other hand, all the empty space in front of the girl in the original photo gives more of a feeling of solitude or separation from the scene. Link to comment
