"Terrible Tilly"

The Tillamook Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. Strong wind and surf provided

the opportunity to get a shot I've wanted of this decommissioned lighthouse.

Man, that must have been someplace to be in a storm.  I understand you may not have a longer lens but a picture that shows more of the lighthouse and less of the total background would be interesting.

I wouldn't have wanted to work there!  I think I agree a little tighter would be nice.

What a shot. I am surprised regarding the few comments considering the many views this shot has received. What a wave, what a storm. To actually be out there would be wild indeed. I can see value in just a little bit of cropping off the bottom OR the top, I really like the width of the shot since it gives some good context.

Nicely captured Gary. Even with a 100-400 lens getting a close shot of this is going to be difficult from land. I have tried to capture this myself and while I have some that are decent none are this good. I agree maybe just a bit off the top would highlight the lighthouse a little more, however I know this area and feel that you managed this extremely well! My compliments

The lighthouse itself captures my whole attention. What a powerhouse of wild water that slams against it.  An excellent shot Gary of one of the most interesting lighthouse shots I've seen. Nice shot. I don't mind the surroundings as it shows how isolated the lighthouse is. Those were brave men who worked there when it was still in operation! Very interesting history on this lighthouse.
