Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted November 5, 2010 Just a lovely piece of photographic art. I might be inclined to tone down the foreground green, though. Link to comment

Alex 0 Posted November 5, 2010 My god, this is unbelievable the colors are just magnificent. The foreground reflections look like their chromed, greatly saturated and displaying great texture as well. The sky is very nice as well I can see why you went with a 50/50 split. This is a great example that rules are meant to be broken and in certain occasions placing the horizon in the center still looks great.CongratsAlex Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted November 5, 2010 EMMANUELSincere thanks for your interest and positive feedback. I know what you mean about the green rocks they do look a bit errrm too green : - )Best RegardsAlfJILLGood to hear from you, I hope your keeping well, when ever I see your name I'm always reminded of that striking self portrait of yours. Many thanks for your interest and thoughts Jill , much appreciated!Cheers JillAlfALEXThanks for your vote of confidence and thoughts, very much appreciated. Most people like the colours in this, others find them a bit too surreal, but it's always good to hear both views, it doesn't alter personal taste, but it does point the way to whats popular and accceptable which has to be important from a commercial view point. Great to have your imput Alex.Best RegardsAlf Link to comment

I was never sure if I had got the colour right with this one, some people seem to like it though.Best RegardsAlfISABELLEGood to hear from you, and I'm very pleased you liked this one. As mentioned above to Raymond, I was uncertain about the colour of this one even though it seems popular, but I might dig out the RAW file at some point and try a mark 2 version. Sincere thanks for your visit and positive feedback Isabelle.Warm RegardsAlf Link to comment
JeffBryce 0 Posted May 11, 2014 This one popped up as a thumbnail somewhere and when I opened it I was surprised to see that it is yours, Alf. To me, the colors (especially greens, blues and yellow) look over-saturated and over-processed. Also, the lighthouse seems too bright, or was it lit by streetlights or something manmade? Looks like a wonderful place for photos. By the way, there is a bit of flare or something at 7 o'clock to the base of the lighthouse that I would remove. Regards, Jeff Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted May 11, 2014 I agree it is over processed and over saturated, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I couldn't get the colours to look right no matter what I did to them. But it's all a learning curve. Strangely enough though the RNLI (Life Boat Station) actually purchased this image and they love it. Tastes are as diverse as the images we portray. I noticed the flare and decided against doing anything about it. This might be one to dig out and try again. Cheers Jeff! Alf Link to comment
