pfranklin 0 Posted October 2, 2010 Thank you for looking, I appreciate all comments and advice. The lighting was very harsh, full sun and not a cloud in the sky but still very pretty and the colors were amazing! Link to comment
JimCowan 0 Posted October 2, 2010 This strong light has given your image a 3D effect. The sharp well defined foreground elements really stand out from the mountain. This is a very striking image. I like the way the water weeds provide interest and fill in the space in the bottom corner. Link to comment

alfbailey 4 Posted October 3, 2010 Breath taking landscape. Beautiful reflections and colour. Sometimes it's difficult to achieve such clarity and definition in harsh sunlight, but you seem to have got the exposure spot on! The almost central composition works well too, but I might have been tempted to get a bit more foreground with the clarity of the water and submerged grasses more prominent. Lovely shot nonetheless.Well done Pamela!Warm RegardsAlf Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted October 3, 2010 Grigoriy, Thank you for the very kind words, I always appreciate your thoughtful comments ;) Jim, I am happy that you like this one, I feel the 3D effect as well only it does look much different larger on my monitor. Sometimes things don't fly over on the web very well, I think this one did pretty good. Thanks for stopping by. Harry, Always a pleasure to hear from you, I am happy that you like this. Alf, As always I appreciate your critiques and I agree...more fg would have been better. Unfortunately the meadows are under repair after being walked on for the season and there was no possible way to get a different/lower angle from this pov. This is one of the most photographed mountain areas in the US and the images from this pov have a very similar composition due to the fragile meadows. I do try to respect (not always) the "stay-off" areas. Don, Thank you for the kind words. Warmest regards, Pamela Link to comment

Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 3, 2010 This has to be one of your best landscapes (of many). It's knock-dead gorgeous! The clarity and colors are outstanding! It's so good that I almost hate to say it.....but the orderly (dare I say compulsive) side of me wants a tiny bit cropped off the top so that the actual mountain and its reflection are both the same distance from the edge of the frame. See if you like the idea. I'm going to have to check out where this mountain is.....I've never heard of it before. Link to comment

quasifoto 0 Posted October 3, 2010 Beautiful shot Pamela. I had been there once and have always wanted to return to try and get my own photo of this wonderful scene! This is a real beauty! I really like the grass in the lower left of the frame. Best Regards ~ Gary Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted October 4, 2010 You're right Pamela. This is one of those attention commanding locations that has been captured a few times I would say. Despite the harsh light, you managed a show stopper. Wow, the colors are exceptional. Looks like the ground cover is on fire. The only thing you could have done better is to have been here at first light or at sunset, but I don't think it would have been a marked improvement. Even without the clouds, this one just sparkles with beauty!! Link to comment

pfranklin 0 Posted October 7, 2010 Thank you everyone for the kind words, I appreciate each and every critique!Arup, Thank you for the kind words. Steve, I appreciate your words. Christal, This area is pretty close to the Canadian border and a worthy visit for anyone who has not seen this place! I had a friend with me on this trip who had not been here before and she was oooh and aahhh the whole time we were there. Thank you for stopping by and I am happy that I could share this little piece of heaven with you. Volker, Thank you, I am happy that you like this. Bobby, I appreciate your kind words and am happy that you enjoyed this. Keith, Always a pleasure my friend, I appreciate your kind words. Niki, The lake is called reflection lake for this very reason, this is natural not photoshop. Thank you for stopping by. Paul, Always a pleasure to hear from you, appreciate that you stopped by to leave your words. Lukas, Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate the kind words. Gary.....you really need to put this place on top of your list! It is an amazing site and always takes my breath away. The drive up is a beauty too and well worth the time. Dror, Thank you!!! Mark, I am happy that you see the beauty here even with the lighting. I actually stacked my ND filters and made my friend stand next to my lens to shade it. Had I been here in the morning this day, the clouds were low and no mountain. Had I been there in the evening this day...it was flat with no color and only a grey sky. These was not the best conditions but the best time this day to be here. Charles, Thank you for the kind words. Anabela, I appreciate your words and hope that you enjoyed the view! Warmest regards, Pamela Link to comment
