Wonderful! I wouldn't change anything on this. The DOF works incredibly well guiding the eyes naturally from the child in the front to the girl that is in the back. Well done.

Especially about the depth of field and 'leading the eye'.

This is one of those photos that has no real reason for being other than you just have captured 'the moment'.

It doesn't necessarily have a great composition, but it shines above all else, because of the boy's expression.

You committed what most consider an 'error' -- you took your camera out in the ran -- when it rains you'll almost always see me there, either looking (at night especially) for reflections or just for unusual views.

People laugh at me in crowds as without umbrella or without hat I go running around with expensive equipment, but often it is rewarded (not last summer though as it was driest on record -- no usual thunderstorms).

It really is no error at all -- it's what good photographers do:  You go to where good photos are to be made.

My unofficial and ad hoc rule is 'if you cover enough ground, have your wits around you, have your camera ready and preset for an exposure on a moment's notice, you're likely to come out with a winner, no  matter when you go out or where you go - rain or shine, night or day.

The young boy's incredible splashing prone in the rain almost surely was NEVER something that was rehearsed and could hardly be easily predicted (he doesn't look soaked throughout as though he was doing it all during the storm.

His face tells it all; children see things differently than adults, and that 'magic' is what the camera allows us to capture and remind us and other adults of what comprises a 'photo'.

For above all else, this is a photo.

Regardless of whether there's composition or anything else 'classic' or not about this, it's a standout:  It's a 'PHOTO!' and memorable.

Very nice moment.  As said before, not necessarily a good compostion, but definitely a good position and capture of the boy, and the two girls.

This is one of those pictures which are exception to the normal rules, Normally I would critique that one quarter of the picture on the left is empty. Since the rest of the picture is so strong it doesnt really bother me.    Well Done.  Ben
