My favourite on Nikon Wednesday this week, what a light! And the more I look at it, the more I admire it. Truly outstanding. Regards, Jana

Richard, Jana and Bella: my sincere appreciation for your visit and very generous comments. When I take an image, one never knows if it will strike a harmonious chord with anyone.  I am still trying acquire that skill that will accurately tell me which images people will really like. Maybe I will never know.  All the best,

Tony, like your light, soft colors, the feeling of motion, and simple presentation. the images that i usually really like are the ones with a variation in ratings. a really good example is Stanislav Volgushev here in flowers, he has a daisy that last time i looked he had 3 - 3s, 2 - 4s   and 3-7's and 1-6. i love these type of images as they make people either love them or hate them. theres passion involved. and to me thats a good thing. more so than if people just like our work.

have also looked at your other image, "Nocturnal", which i also like. had a laugh when i read 'digital alteration', it's sort of stating the obvious......but on thinking about it appreciate your pointing out the difference between the two. you actually see very, very few images that have not been edited in one way or another. the ones that work for me are the ones that your really not sure if they have been altered or not. but on saying that i also really like some computer generated art, which is what your image "Nocturnal" is. it's bedtime down here at the bottom of the world....good night mr. Tony

I like the light in this image. You can almost feel the soft breeze thats moving the Golden Threads.  Very nice.

This is very magical, with that inner light quality.  Just different enough to catch and hold the viewers attention.  I like this a lot.

many thanks for all of your insightful words. I am glad that you introduced me to Stanislav's floral images - I think they are great and I should try and develop a similar style. My problem is a mostly lack of focus. Some people chose flowers as the area where they will toil, sweat, learn and then produce impressive images with a certain regularity. My problem is that i am having too much fun and if there  is a tad of appeal and it is within range of me and my camera, I shoot it.

Re the nocturnal _ I used to identify "digital Alteration" with more regularity - now I do it occasionally. The time when what we present for reality - what your eyes saw - is unfortunately getting to the point where not much will be real. Consider what an un-manipulated  diffused background looks like and then ask whether that represents 'reality' and the answer is no. I just read an article where a 'multiple prototype lens' will allow you with the appropriate software to change the focus "after the fact'.

All the best,

Tony, A very evocative image of death and fire (not that the two are related) and transformation. Wonderfully portrayed with those great colors.

Fire and death indeed - it was only a few minutes later and I had the death of the fire. I took some other images at this location but they are not worthy of being viewed at photo.net.

This is fabulous Tony. An excellent example of what a trained, creative eye can do!

All the best,
