Well, you found a bright shiny subject complete with green handle bar covers, looking wonderful in the rain. The trouble with subjects like this is that they have so much going on that without background elements they can look cluttered.  The red bucket is really the final capper on that, contrasting as it does with the green.  

Much of photography of found objects depends upon finding a way to simplify them in the process of making them into photographs.
