smigliori 0 Posted September 19, 2010 For me, a very difficult capture, taken on the street from a long distance at 6:00 PM with low light in a cloudy day. I'll grateful for your opinions and critiques (even rate if you prefer) about the composition (crop), light and overall outcome. Thanks in advance. Stefano. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 19, 2010 For a street portrait capture this is a remarkable and so well lit, with the sort of lens been used, specially if it been set at around the 300MM, I find the sharpness also effective here, again the b/w format is a great choice and work well with the image atmosphere, the contrast and tone are another outstanding elements adding to the beauty of this image.I just wished there been more space to the right and also down the foreground, that would strengthen the composition further.Beautiful work, thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. ArtLionse 0 Posted September 19, 2010 I like the expression and look, they are stunning. Together with tones and softness it makes an angelic portrait. I also would like more room on the upper right corner, but as a street portrait you might not had control of this part. All in all a wonderful portrait! Link to comment

anne_s3 0 Posted September 19, 2010 Really well done in every respect- this image also has an old-world charm to it - as if this young girl was from another era. Very nice! Link to comment

esteban Rios 18 Posted September 19, 2010 Lovely portrait, I like a lot the softness. Her sight is beautiful, great idea to processing in B&W. I love the pose. In my personal opinion I´d rather her face a bit more center in order to give it more protagonism. Any way, great composition. 7Best regards. Link to comment
Congratulations for this shot.Highly expressive image, the gaze of the beautiful girl turned to the skywarrants and represents well the title that you assigned. Without detracting from the value of this I would point out my opinion on two points, notwithstanding the difficulties that you mentioned. was possible to include the whole arms in the shot? a greater definition on the hair and headdress probably put more attention to the proud expression on his face. davidmccracken 2 Posted September 20, 2010 What is important is not whether it was difficult to capture or not. What is important is was it worth the effort! I would say it was. Lovely moody b & w. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted September 20, 2010 there is an eloquent softness in this image... i think making it crisper would have taken away some of its charm... the arms indicate her tension... having a fuller view of them would have been nice as there is an awkwardness about her right wrist which she grips between her left arm and her torso... i quite like your rule-defying composition with her upturned face in the corner... i like the toning, reserving the brightest grays for her face and the multi-hued grays for the rest of her garb... the only optional crop i can think of would be a square composition losing the lowest areas... but i do feel the arms are a vital element of the composition... regards, and my compliments - rajat Link to comment
mauroni 0 Posted September 21, 2010 Ciao Stefano.I agree about almost everything with Rajat, but Paolo has a point when he says that the presence of the whole arms would have been better. In other words I would have used a wider lens. But - anyway - I like very much this street portrait. Mauro Link to comment
