This shot came after a set of brutal storms rolled through Omaha, NE and

knocking the power out in the kitchen I was working in at the time. The

mammatus clouds and the color of the setting sun gave this shot a lot of

character.

Hi Phil,

Nice capture.

This is a different cloud/sky image from what is normally seen.

Since this is a documentary type image, the over exposed skyline is ok, since it emphasizes the contrast between the tumultuous clouds and the clearing setting Sun.

Otherwise, the use of another program mode or manual mode would be required to expose on the sunset brightness level (to prevent over saturation) and leave the rest of the scene darker.
