The sky has more complexity in the vertical version, I like it very much. Do you also experience yellow/blue fringing with this lens ? I would imagine if I shot this with mine, I would see it around the trees on the edge. This is one of two things that worries me about the lens. The other one is the 82 mm filter, I cannot find a strong neutral density filter for it.

Hi Peter, thanks, I prefer this one over the horizontal version myself. Regarding the lens, I do get some fringing in the corners in extreme contrast conditions. For example, under a bright sky scene, if there are trees with leaves in the corners of the frame one can see some fringing under high magnification along the leaf-sky boundry. It is not too bad and it is not always present. I asked others who have this lens about this and they did not seem to have that problem. I concluded that there may be quality variations on this series of Pentax lens and that mine is one of the losers, so to say.

The filter is large at 82mm. You should have no problem finding neutral density filters of all degrees in this size, for a price that is. I would visit KEH.com for used equipment. I trust them and have purchased from them. Regards.
