Yeah I can see where your coming from with the "Oh NO! Not road construction here"!  comment, but the truck really does add a few things to the shot, contrasting subject matter for one and scale for another. The position of the truck seems to indicate it kind of invaded your composition just as you were lined up to take a stunning landscape image. But for me it contributes enourmously to the whole scene.

Excellent work Deanna!

Best  Regards

Alf

Hi Deanna, you've been busy! For me this is a clever and thought provoking shot. On the one hand you have those majestic mountains, which have been there for millennia and have stood the test of time, then you have the man made element (the truck) which shouldn't belong but does somehow!Although might have to get a petition up if they start deciding to build all over Alaska! Really interesting work. Warm regards. Sarah.

Thank you for your thorough critique of this image. I knew I wanted to include the truck but your thoughts have helped me understand why it was a good idea. Take care, Deanna

This is a national park and the truck was just delivering stone for road repair. There are few buildings in the park and only one unpaved road that goes about 90 miles in so we need not worry about the invasion of civilation to this area. It can drop to 60 degrees f below zero in the winter and that diminishes the desire to live there. Thanks for a helpful critique. Take care, Deanna

Deanna, It's a beautiful image, with wonderful range of colors in the mountains. I agree with the previous comment about the truck giving a sense of scale to the mountains.
