Great flawless masterpiece! I really enjoyed the composition, very balanced light/color, and powerful sense of silence and tranquility. Bravo.

if this has been done before.  the final product is beautiful.  we all have to get the over done styles out of our system right?  i really like the horizon on this one.  you did a great job.  i can't offer advice here :)

Alf, I liked this one immediately I saw it. Others have already made many comments, but I also would like to say that though there many photos out there with similar subject matter you have done a great job in making this one stand out from the rest. I particularly like the red, and red/yellow lights on the right, they really add to the composition. Beautiful. Regards Erik

Excellently exposed an composed  image. Storng blues broken by the yellow on the horizon is woderfull, as well as the miiror like reflections in the water of the houses. Strong image which reflects a very relxing mood. Well done Alf!

Alf, what can I say? This  is stunning. The transitions of the shades of blue is exquisite. The composition is superb. Altogether a work of art, a tour de force.

I would love to see a large print, I am sure it would be powerful.

Warm wishes,

Linda

I could see this printed as a fine art poster.  The simplicity of composition, the beautiful range of tones makes this a real stunner.

You have a valid point, maybe what I overlooked is that certain styles are done "over again" simply because they work. Many thanks for your kind comments and feedback Bob, Much appreciated!

Don't know if the comment would be "helpful" or not, but I love the image, because I love the image...it's all been said. Great lines. Great colors...beautiful treatment!

Good to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well. In my opinion nearly all comments are helpful, for instance " I love the photo, because I love the photo" tells me I'm doing something right, and something that pleases, "Great colours, great lines" tells me the elements and aspects of the photo that stands out for you. And in addition of course........it's just great to know these things. Sincere thanks for your comments and feedback!

Cheers Tiffany!

maybe it was done before, but when i look at the picture this didnt even come to my mind, because i am stunned with the impact of the photo. it is interesting how the central composed dock turn to the right in the end, like seeking the connection with the shore at the same side. beautiful tones, perfect light and colors. an excellent photo. 7.

ok, had to stop by one more time. a lot has been written about this image but what appeals to me is the unexpected. yes at first the eye runs on the dock towards the horizon but then, the unexpected, a sharp 90 degrees turn, the "action" is actually on the right and not on the horizon line. great shot. on the surface of it, this image has been done before, but not really.

Many thanks for your interest and positive comments. This jetty is quite unusual I suppose because of it's shape, but I had never thought of it as you described "the unexpected" probably because I know the area well. But I thank you for your view of it, its refreshing to get another take on an image.

Many thanks for your interest and thoughts, I'm not sure I share your enthusiasm for wanting to jump right in, but then I might be more tempted if I didn't know the place so well and the things that inhabit it's murky depths

: - )

Cheers Vicki!
