hstelljes 41 Posted August 28, 2010 Hi Alf, Well all the superlatives have been stated, I'd just like to add my thoughts. The foreground boats are great and the winding path between them is almost another shot in and of itself. Just great work, again. Take care my friend.......Holger Link to comment

swede621 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Another winner, Alf. Beautiful color and tone. Super sharp detail. Nice eye to compose the crooked dock into the image the way you did. As I said previously, you never disappoint. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Just double underline all comments above. If a 'romantic morning mood ' is existing then you present it here. Technically brilliant in all aspects. Big compliments Alf! Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted August 28, 2010 TONY Many thanks for your thoughts and comments, I really appreciate your imput.Kind RegardsAlfGAILSincere thanks for your thoughts and kind words. The thought of making a living out of doing something I love is a very attractive one, but one that must remain a deep seated wish for the moment. In the meantime, I get a great sense of satisfaction and pleasure just knowing that people get enjoyement from sharing my experiences through the medium of a photograph. That sense of enjoyement is amplified a hundred fold when people are moved enough to relate their thoughts and feelings by means of comment and critique, and when they are related in such eloquent terms as you have demonstrated, well what can I say......but a BIG thank you!Cheers Gail!AlfDAVID Many thanks for your feedback and kind words, I think that might have been 3 words david! but hey! ....who's counting when its such great compliments!Best RegardsAlfDEANNAThank you so much for your visit and kind words. The whole area of The Lake District is really beautiful, around every corner is another picture postcard image just waiting for my camera, or anyone elses for that matter.Warm RegardsAlfCHARLESMany thanks for your thoughts and kind words. I have always maintained that The Lake District seems to have it's own particular light, I don't know if it's something to do with the air or the atmosphere, but there is a natural clarity about the place like no other I have encountered.Kind RegardsAlfRICHARDSincere thanks for your feedback and kind words. The higgledy piggledy wooden walkway was just begging to be photographed, the backdrop was an added bonus.Cheers RichardAlfHOLGERMany thanks for your thoughts and feedback it really is appreciated. You have touched on something that struck me also, i.e. The possibility of another crop with the walkway prominent again, but this time just the right hand side of the image visible, almost a 50% vertical crop. I did try it , and it did work too, but after some deliberation I kept the original format.Warm RegardsAlfSREEHARISincere Thanks for your comments and feedback. You are quite right, the early morning was the only time to capture this scene as it is. The water calm, the light gentle, no people, just an air of stillness and peace. Later in the day would be boats moving, birds splashing and flapping about as well as cars, pedestrians and all of the sounds and movement that accompany them.Kind RegardsAlfBIRTEMany thanks for your visit, your feedback as always is invaluable to me.Warm RegardsAlfJERRY Sincere thanks for your thoughts and and generous comments. The crooked dock was quite a challenge, no matter which way I tilted the camera I couldn't get it level, in the end I used the "Virtual Horizon" feature, which I have to admit is one of my favourite little gizmo's on the D700.Cheers Jerry!AlfELMany thanks for your feedback and kind words, I really appreciate it. Such is the romantic mood of this area, it has long since captured the hearts and minds of some great writers and poets. If I have captured a fragment of this essence, then I am very gratified indeed!Warm RegardsAlf Link to comment
