Such a tranquil, meditative scene.  I can almost hear the marsh birds, crickets, and the soft brushing of the grasses in a gentle breeze. Terrific tones.  A very calming picture.~~~~~~L

While the heavy sky and swampy water mirror each other in light, tones, and lazy movement, their gentle ripples foil the razer sharp leaves of the tall grass and together provide a pallet for the dancing seeds.  The slight movement of water and pre-strom sky suggests a refreshing slight breeze for this projection of peace and wholeness.

Wonderful sharp foreground vegetation against the grey pearlescent sky makes for a very tranquil and aesthetically pleasing image.

Nice work!

Linda L:  You've captured the scene with words and sounds perfectly.  Thanks.

Trisha:  It's amazing to watch the tide roll in and have the grass virtually disappear.

Tony:  Thanks.  Since you're expert at these sweeping landscapes, I appreciate your thumbs up.

Donna:  It's a quiet little stretch along the street.  The other side has the Cape Cod railroad tracks.  So the quiet is occasionally interrupted by a long lonesome train whistle.

Alf:  Pearlescent is a wonderful word.  Thanks for applying it to this picture.

Tatjana:  Thanks.

Koushik:  You've gotta affirm serenity when you experience it.  I like the peace that this place holds.

Mehmet:  Thank you.

Bob:  You know.  You've been there.  Cape Cod is a special place (once you get off of Route 6).

Ruud:  Thanks.

Beautiful. This could be down the road from me, but I guess Louisiana doesn't have all of the marshes. Like others have said, even though the sky is brooding, the grasses and water seem to soothe its temper.

Technically sweet. Lots of detail even in the dark tones. I'm reminded of modernists poetry here. Maybe a little Frost.

Sweet tones here, Jeff. I find your work of late to be a tad introspective, as your recent landscapes have had a bit of moody aspect to them.

I think this one goes well with the one next door, the reworking of the one with the truck. I remember that other one but not well enough to compare the new version to the old.

The reason I think this and that one go well together is that you seem to have seen both landscapes in parcels. I like the way there are discrete sections. Here, there are three main ones, the wispy, tall blades in the foreground, the water and the sky. The land is, of course, a fourth section but seems to wander throughout and thereby tie everything together. I like the blurriness of the edge of the grasses as reflected in the water. There's a simplicity here with a bit of grandeur just aching to emerge.

...one of these 'breathe deep'images...you captured and presented the Marsh atmosphere perfectly - and black & white is color enough - definitely. As I said, a 'breathe deep' image. Compliments!
