ondrejkubik 0 Posted August 8, 2010 I know...another cow looking into fisheye lens... Link to comment
drjoder 0 Posted August 8, 2010 True, but this one is a bit different and I like it. The saturated colors make it look like something out of Alice and Wonderland. In a perfect world, maybe the tip of the nose could be a bit sharper, bit nice shot all the same! Link to comment

John Di Leo 1,750 Posted August 9, 2010 Love it! Almost looks like still frame from a very rich animation. Link to comment
ondrejkubik 0 Posted August 11, 2010 ...and for rating too. I don't like talk about brands and marks too much, because none of the manufactures gave me anything for free so I suppose they don't deserve any free advertisement of their products ;), but when you are asking... I was using Samyang 8mm horizontal fisheye lens, unfortunately the minimal focusing distance of the lens is 30cm (approx. 1ft) and the cow was almost breathing onto front element of lens, so tip of the nose was too close to made it sharper... The photo above is resized jpeg file directly from camera and colors are saturated due to settings of DSLR. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted August 13, 2010 I thought it looked liked a Samyang and was going to guess that....I swear. Given the long perspective of the cow, you were obviously very close to it and since there was quite a bit more left of the frame without vignetting, it couldn't have been a circular fisheye like what I shoot with. I would have to get about 2 inches away from the nose for this kind of effect of the cow, but I would have a lot of vignetting going on with this much of the frame left, so I would be doing a lot of cropping....usually about 50%. I didn't know that lens doesn't focus closer than a foot. Mine focuses fine from about an inch, but the dof is very shallow that close...just a couple inches. Link to comment
