g1 0 Posted March 21, 2003 Very moving indeed. Do you know the story of this womans expression or was it a candid of a stranger? There are quite a few small details which I enjoy, and that give clues of her character and life. Beautiful rendition of colour. Nicely exposed and composed too. Link to comment
bgelfand 1,255 Posted March 21, 2003 You have an outstanding portrait here. You should recatagorize it as a portrait. Great color, sharp focus and excellent composition. You caught a great expression on her face. Link to comment
alandersen 0 Posted March 21, 2003 Most excellent! I love the colors, and the choice of lighting for this portrait. Link to comment

wenger 0 Posted March 22, 2003 I don't think there is room in those eyes to fit any more pain. What an incredible picture. Link to comment
walter_strong3 0 Posted March 22, 2003 This image has "National Geographic" written all over it! Link to comment
suvomoy_mitra 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Replyto Geraldine Allen : It was a candid, she did see that I was aiming at her and she covered her face...I pressed my shutter.Thanx everyone for viewing and comments. Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted March 23, 2003 The colours pose and lighting are excellent. However I do not like the black holes for eyes, nor the overall image quality which seems soft and then oversharpened and/or the contrast overdone. I realise this maybe the scan etc in which case please rescan as the image absolutely deserves it. Link to comment
incubus 0 Posted March 23, 2003 There are no words for this picture, the colors, the shadows, the expression, the "texture" of her skin, all are great. This is the kind of "portrait" I like. Link to comment
gordon_szeto 0 Posted March 23, 2003 I know when I like a portrait when I am left wondering about the subject's life. Who is she? What is she thinking? Very nice shot Link to comment
seven 0 Posted March 26, 2003 Top class take. There appears to be detail in the shadows that could be extracted if need be; but that seems unnecessary - her eyes are mirrored in the lined face and gnarled hands. Congratulations. Link to comment
jimvanson 0 Posted March 29, 2003 Good, very good. I'd love to have been in your place, shooting and talking with her...we don't get to share with people like this very often. And the print..the yellow sleeve is to hot. Your eyes keep going back to it. You can't crop as you'd loose that wonderful hand so you have to tone it down (and you may have to add some noise as you correct it). Wonderful shot regardless. Link to comment
