Symbol of Freedom?

Just so nobody takes this the wrong way, I'm referring to the bird's

freedom. I'm not making any sort of political statement.

Actually, I kind of like the fence... like caged freedom. Kind of does make a statement. It would be cool if the red post weren't there, though.

I like the intensity of the eagle's stare. Can you crop out all the wire fence and replace the background? I feel the background kills the subject...too distracting

Not to be contrarian, but I not only love the subject, the eagle, but I really like the fence and even the red post. I don't agree with folks who want to PShop the world to a highly polished and sanitized point. This is a fine image, and I hope you got an 'A' in the class.

I like the fence. I could have blured that to make it less noticeable, or removed it in photoshop. The point is however that this is a proud bird but he is caged. I wanted to show him looking away toward the fence. I have other photos without the fence, but they don't have the impact of this one.

The whole image tells of sadness but in a powerful way. The fence and the birds epressive pose are very cool!!

If it weren't for the wire shadows against the red, one could argue the eagle is on the outside of the cage.
