spare my feelings! have posted the same photo in Black and white and

would like to compare the reactions of the community. i can't decide

which i prefer.

Dylan, I like both versions, but my preference is the color. I think in this instance the color adds something to the atmosphere that I'm not getting in the BW. It adds a certain richness to the textures of the building and the green in the cobblestones. Also the red of the chained bicycle with it's bent tire seems to say something more.

Hi Dylan,

I like both versions but feel the colour one is stronger, mainly due to the visual impact of the red door leading into the red bike.

Aivar, thanks for looking. Even I was surprised at how vivid the colours were. I didn't even have to mess with the saturation.

Ana and Les, thanks very much for your comments. The fact that the red of the door stops just where the bicycle starts is what made me stop and take the photo, and I guess that is a bit lost in the B/W.
