Mirror Lake, Lake Placid NY

I really liked the colors in this picture, but I had a lot of trouble with the

exposure and capturing the mists...any thoughts on how I could have done

this differently? I used a canon rebel xt with a canon ef 75-300mm lens

with a UV filter.
