If you view then I beg to to view larger, as the impact from the

standard image is very much less. A bit different, and am keen to

hear what you think, the good and the bad ! Many thanks

Great image.  So many people lose sight of the fact sometimes, an image should be dark.  If ever there were something that could truly convey the loneliness and depravity in construction in any image, dark is it.  I'm not sure what it as like there, but you definitely captured some kind of atmosphere there. 7/7

totally agree with the previous comment. there is something spacial here. very atmospheric and very appropriate. crop could be better and the vertical lines corrected to 90 degrees but still, the power is in the atmosphere, well done.

The atmosphere is wonderful, but maybe just a very slight more contrast so the light on the 4 center columns and the reflection on the water is just a bit brighter. Very nice.

Your kind comments and suggestions are well received and much appreciated.

I have taken on board the suggestions by Dror and Tony and done some editing with the attached result.   Is this more of what you have in mind please ?  Perhaps I should crop even more at each of the right and left sides ?

Yes I agree there is an atmosphere, dark, foreboding, hidden and sinister, I can feel it now, the damp cold air, the sudden splash with inexplicably no ripples, the muted echo of whispered voices or was that just a seabird, I stare into the shadowy depths and the hairs on my neck stand on end  as a blurred face appears beneath the surface of the water, I gasp and take a pace backwards, and then kick myself and let out a nervous chuckle as the plastic supermarket shopping bag floats by.  Yep I feel it's one of those kind of places. Well it certainly captured my imagination, and in my honest opinion, I think you captured the essence of fear and the unknown in the original shot, this seems good enough reason to me to leave it be.

Excellent work Jim!

Alf
