PeterKrenek 26 Posted July 5, 2010 A simple, but nice layered composition. I could suggest leveling the horizon, removing lens distortion and removing part of the sky (attached). I can imagine this as a long exposure with a strong neutral density filter, the color gradients could be interesting. Link to comment
Jeff Lear 0 Posted July 6, 2010 I agree with Peter. The blues are very nice, a 9 stop ND filter would have been fun to experiment with, and your horizon dips on the right side. Given that it is perhaps the most prominent aspect of your photograph... it should be straight. Link to comment

I don't have the technical knowledge of photography to comment on the set-up (a newbie, see!) - but visually, for me, this is as expressive and beautiful as the painting of Rothko.
