Lovely composition Jim. Selective focus is excellent in this shot, young  wheat is just enough texture to counter balance the soft focus in the background and foreground.  The colors are excellent. Very fresh.....nice work Jim......very pleasant, Sincerely, Gail

Very crowded. Central kernel is in good sharp focus and shows its texture. Green on green Look good. <P> Consider isolating 1-2 kernels with few leaves and compose against a blurred BG.  I am posting a picture that is an example of isolating objects. This is by no means a better picture but does illustrate reducing distractions. <P> You sure have great pictutres in you portfolio. Regards, ifti.

This reminds me of summer days laying back, chewing a piece of grass with nothing better to do than stare at stalks of wheat, half lost in thought with the warmth of the sun on my face. <sigh>  Happy days!

I find the image very pleasing, and my opinion differs from Iftis on this one, as the image simply wouldn't convey any of the emotion described above if it was just an isolated stem of wheat. The larger view is magical, the fine detail and droplets of moisture are exquisite.
